"The Hall of Honor is a beacon to the moving and relocation industry. By recognizing and celebrating these outstanding individuals, we reveal incredible stories about the history of our business; perhaps more importantly though, these stories inspire our community to blaze their own trail and further our industry in the future."

Brian Limperopulos

IAM President

About the Hall of Honor

How nominees are selected, who is eligible, and how to take part.

Who is eligible
Eligible candidates include:
  • Participants of the transportation, moving, forwarding, and/or relocation and shipping industries
  • Individuals who have served as clients and/or customers of the industry
  • IAM members, both past and present, as well as non-members
  • Other individuals as deemed appropriate by the IAM Selection Committee and IAM Executive Committee
Nominees must have made a major contribution to one of the related industries and have a minimum of 5 years' experience. Nominees may be living or deceased, and may not be self-nominated. Members of the HoH Selection Committee are not eligible while serving. Companies are not eligible for induction.
How to nominate someone
Nominees are solicited from the full IAM membership, past or present, along with clients and customers. Submit the Hall of Honor Nomination Form by April 1 each year — a separate form is required for each nominee. Complete nominations include the nominee's name, current professional affiliation, and the reasons for the nomination. Incomplete forms or forms submitted after the deadline will not be considered. All nominations are confidential.
How inductees are selected
After the open call for nominations, the list is sent to living Hall of Honor members for input on each nominee's contributions to the industry. The Selection Committee — a balanced group spanning IAM membership tiers and global regions — reviews that input, the nominator's information, and historical records, then votes independently and confidentially. Up to three candidates who achieve the highest scores and meet the required point threshold are recommended to the IAM Executive Committee for final review. The entire process is kept confidential.
Induction and recognition
New inductees are announced and honored at a ceremony during the IAM Annual Meeting each October. Recipients receive permanent enshrinement in the IAM Hall of Honor and are acknowledged in The Portal magazine, on the Association's website, and in other publications.
About the Sweep Class
The Hall of Honor Sweep Class was instituted in 2017 to recognize deserving industry members who may have been overlooked because their peer group is no longer involved in the industry or Association, and subsequent generations have had little to no interaction with them.
